Ahmed Kosoko is a founding attorney at Kosoko Law Group, LLC. Mr. Kosoko has 20 years of experience in all aspects of litigation and investigations. Mr. Kosoko has tried 14 jury trials to verdict and has practiced law at the highest levels in Illinois. His practice is emphasized in the areas of commercial litigation, general tort litigation, municipal liability, civil rights, criminal law including white collar defense, constitutional law, and appellate practice.
Before founding Kosoko Law Group, LLC, Mr. Kosoko was employed as an Assistant State's Attorney with the Cook County State's Attorney's Office. During his time as an Assistant State's Attorney, Mr. Kosoko worked in the Special Prosecutions Unit and tried over 200 cases to a verdict. Mr. Kosoko was also an assistant appellate defender and was also appointed as Special Assistant Corporation Counsel, working as outside counsel for the City of Chicago in the Civil Rights Division. He successfully argued before the Illinois Supreme Court in People v Williams, 235 Ill. 2d 178 (2009). In that case of first impression, the Court agreed with Mr. Kosoko that federal Copyright Act preempted the Illinois Statute that criminalized the sale of any sound recording without the consent of the owner. Mr. Kosoko puts this diverse set of experiences to work in service of his current clients.
